Layout: Pearl follows a more traditional format compared to recent maps like Fracture. It features three distinct lanes, akin to maps like Haven and Split. According to Level Designer Joe Lansford, Pearl emphasizes committed engagements without the rotation and mobility support seen in other maps. While it appears deceptively simple, it still offers strategic depth.

Lore: Pearl is set in a modern-day Atlantis, once a proud metropolis in Portugal but now submerged due to climate change. Despite its underwater setting, Pearl thrives as a battleground for Valorant agents. The visual inspiration for Pearl combines concepts of an underwater theme with a flooded city due to climate change. The Omega Earth setting allowed the team to explore how Omega Kingdom would approach climate change visually, resulting in a unique juxtaposition of modern structures and historical Portuguese architecture.
