Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Wolverine studio reportedly working on an unannounced game

Insomniac Games is busy brewing up another title alongside the highly anticipated Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Marvel’s Wolverine.

In a seminar with Full Sail University last year in 2022, project director Erin Eberhardt dropped a tantalizing hint about an “unannounced game” she’s involved with. However, she remained tight-lipped about the details, mentioning, “I can’t really talk a lot about it.”

While Eberhardt didn’t explicitly mention Marvel’s Wolverine, some speculate that the mention of an “unannounced game” might refer to it. But considering the clip’s age and Marvel’s Wolverine being announced back in 2021, it’s more likely that the project director is alluding to a different game altogether.

As Insomniac gears up for the release of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 later this year on October 20, Marvel’s Wolverine remains shrouded in mystery with no confirmed release date or recent updates since its unveiling two years ago.

Earlier this year, rumors circulated that Marvel’s Wolverine could potentially hit shelves as early as Fall 2024, suggesting Insomniac might be juggling two AAA titles within a short timeframe. While this might seem ambitious, the studio, backed by Sony, has a track record of delivering top-notch experiences.

Given Sony’s backing, it’s safe to assume that whatever project Insomniac is cooking up will likely be a console exclusive for the PS5 audience. With Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Marvel’s Wolverine already generating buzz, fans eagerly await further news on what else the studio has in store.
