To crack the puzzle, you need to arrange the moon images in a specific order: full moons at the top, half-moons in the middle, and no moons at the bottom. It sounds tricky, but we’ve got a step-by-step guide to get you through it.

Here’s one solution that worked for us:

  1. Start with the top disc.
  2. Move to the left disc.
  3. Then, move right twice.
  4. Bring the bottom disc down three times.
  5. Go left twice.
  6. Followed by right twice.
  7. Move left once.
  8. Back to the top disc.
  9. Then, left again.
  10. Move the top disc three times.
  11. Left three times.
  12. Right once.
  13. Top disc three times.
  14. Right three times.
  15. Top disc.
  16. Finally, right once more

It takes some effort, but once you’ve got it, the door will open up. And guess what? The clue to solving it is hidden in a room full of explosives!

Instead of wrestling with the Moon Puzzle, head over to the fallen statue near the top moon disc. Your characters will prompt a perception check. If any of them pass, you’ll uncover a lever on the right-hand wall. It’s locked, but if you’ve got a lockpick handy (maybe bring Astarion along), you can give it a shot. If you succeed, pull the lever, and presto! The secret door to the Underdark opens up without the hassle of dealing with the moon puzzle.
