Finding the Dragonscale Armor in Skyrim
Getting your hands on the Dragonscale Armor in Skyrim can be a bit of a challenge, but it’s totally worth it. Here’s how you can snag this awesome gear and become a true dragon-slaying badass.
Crafting Dragonscale Armor:
To craft the Dragonscale Armor, you’ll need to level up your Smithing skill to 100 and unlock the Dragon Armor Perk. Once you’ve done that, gather the following materials:
- Iron Ingots: Smelt Iron Ores to make Iron Ingots.
- Leather: Convert animal hides into leather at tanning racks.
- Leather Strips: Cut leather into strips at tanning racks.
- Dragonscale: Kill some dragons and loot their corpses for Dragonscale.
With these materials in hand, you can craft the following pieces of Dragonscale Armor:
- Chest Armor: Requires two Iron Ingots, three Leather Strips, one Leather, and four Dragonscales.
- Boots: Requires one Iron Ingot, two Leather Strips, one Leather, and two Dragonscales.
- Gauntlets: Requires one Iron Ingot, two Leather Strips, one Leather, and two Dragonscales.
- Helmet: Requires two Iron Ingots, two Leather Strips, and four Dragonscales.
If you’re rocking The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim Anniversary Edition, you can actually snag the Dragonscale Armor early through the Creation Club. But here’s the catch—it’s called the Studded Dragonscale Armor in this version.
Here’s how to get it:
- Head to the Windhelm stables and then to Candleheath Hall.
- Grab The Crimson Dirks, v4 book in the corridor on the right.
- Read the whole book to kick off the Tilted Scales quest.
- Follow the quest marker to investigate Yorgrim’s Overlook.
- Defeat the skeleton warrior and nab the overlook key from its remains.
- Head to Yorgrim’s Overlook, take down two more skeletons, unlock the chest, and claim your Studded Dragonscale Armor.
